C250 diesel .Won’t

A Starting Problem.

= Mercedes ,C 250. 5 cylinder ,non diesel (WDB202) with kms. Never had an issue in 6 months. Always started at the of the key. Then one morning it Dead as. Tried quick ether etc. Coughed a bit but wouldn’t start .

Opened a IP at the injector and turned motor but could not see any fuel coming out = fuel problem.

Removed manifold. checked glow tested them. all ok but # 3 glow won’t screw out. Its fast .Won’t move. Am it with CRC penetrant daily some will soak the join and loosen it. Someone that this glow is probably carboned up inside the and so won’t come out. If so is any way of decarbonising it now or once its running Would running 100% fuel remove this deposit.

Next removed fuel to check o rings for leaks. clear fuel lines had been replaced with ones so couldn’t see if there was air in lines. But the o rings from pump to fuel shut off were hardened so a possible of a leak. Have ordered o rings and will replace all once they arrive. No leaks around IP ( injector

Meanwhile I have noticed the previous owner has re-plumbed of the fuel lines. They plumbed the fuel heater and out of the fuel system. ie, Instead of the hose connecting to the fuel exchanger. it instead loops the top of the prefilter to the bottom of it bypassing the heater altogether. When I the pre-filter there was no fuel in it. I am this was done as a cheap fix to a non heater. How can I test if its working. if its ok I re-plumb the pre-filter to the fuel If the fuel heat/exchanger is by-passed this atm is it likely to be affecting the or life of the engine.

Someone has also put non return on the fuel lines going the fuel cut off valve. Also is a small online fuel been added previously. IT was Is it likely they added non valves to stop fuel out of the system when it was parked up I heard the turbo diesels had a with this. No obvious leaks anywhere in the engine bay .

If all the o rings were actually ok and its not air in the lines what else be causing the non start issue. This model and year had a wiring loom issue the plastic got brittle and fell exposing bear wires. I patched these up where possible. No fuses are blown .

Also this model has no way of air from the fuel lines turning over the motor runs the battery flat So am considering putting a priming in the fuel line. but where is to add this. Would one of those outboard motor squeeze do the trick.

Any help or advice is most welcome .
