Mercedes-Benz C-Class Engine

Our week was spent in a C 250 CDI C-Class Coupe the only variant. Entry to the all-new C-Class Coupe lineup is the four-cylinder C 180 with 115kW/250Nm, the C 250 also employs a 1.8-litre, powerplant but is good for 150kW/310Nm the 3.5-litre V5 C 350 reigns supreme 225kW/370Nm.

‘Benz says the C 250 CDI C-Class Coupe we tested at 4200rpm and 500Nm from delivers segment-best scores for consumption (5.1l/100kms) and exhaust C02 (134g/km).

Drive is via the latest of Mercedes’ 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission. ‘PLUS’ calibration for enhanced fuel and comfort, but we certainly found the Coupe crisp enough in its response (even in ‘ECO’ to be classified as a sporty coupe.

And, of course Mercedes-Benz has building diesel engines our grandfathers were wearing so they’ve certainly got the hang of it by The Mercedes-Benz C 250 CDI C-Class Coupe was quiet, even when (an early spring cold brought mornings below degrees during our week) and accelerating hard.

Mercedes-Benz Coupe The Interior

The Mercedes-Benz Coupe highlights the current interior style modern, but not classy, but not conservative and with a new palette which will if you haven’t recently checked-out a passenger car.

All four are superbly sculptured we really the driving position which was with a mixture of manual and electronic adjustment for height and angle for the seat as well as and rake (manual) for the typically ‘Benz steering wheel. says the C-Class Coupe’s of fore-aft slide for the front is the longest in the category.

Our Mercedes-Benz C 250 CDI (like all models except the C was beautifully trimmed in full (Artico man-made leather for the model). Our test car ran brushed trim, but you can also select five others including black piano-lacquer look and burr walnut.

Instrumentation is the usual gauges and to the is the high-resolution screen for the satellite and audio. In the centre of the gauges are excellent graphics showing example) which seat are used and even if the backrests on the seats are unlatched (60/40 for extra luggage).

‘Benz the C-Class Coupe delivers shoulder room of 1372mm and respectively plus elbow (1443mm front/1335mm rear) and hip between front and rear of 789mm which, they are amongst the best in this

Access to the rear seats is thanks to ‘Benz’ EASY-ENTRY which is simply activated via a near the top of the front seats initially folds the seat, slides it forwards (all not electric but, unlike rivals, the operation is finger-touch so the Car Showroom juniors could un-aided).

Audio functionality has improved with Benz’ Audi 20 system with displayed on the centre screen, with a great array of information including and here’s an one fuel consumption history (it frustrating to see how much your nose-dives in city traffic).

C-Class Coupe Exterior

Styling-wise, the all-new Mercedes-Benz Coupe is an exercise in elegance. as you would expect from the leader, it’s not half-baked. The silhouette is actually 41mm than the C-Class sedan and the two share some cues the beltline, the coupe’s panache in the form of those dramatically-upswept

The front, naturally, shares its with the rest of the latest C-Class range the somewhat grille treatment looks and the Coupe gets a few distinguishing

And the short rear end is all curves and leading to a boot with a raised trailing edge and a under-bumper treatment.

All-up the Coupe shows once how Mercedes’ designers, perhaps than anyone else, can a premium look with and precision, largely by getting the spot-on regardless of the market

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe On The

Turning sedans into often brings some beef to support the larger openings. ‘Benz is smarter that and there has been a on keeping the weight of the C-Class reined-in not the least of which is the use of for the front fenders, bonnet lighter than the steel and parcel shelf.

And that in turn translates on-road dynamics which are and responsive. Sure the Mercedes-Benz is a bit more composed than edgier high performance but this is still a coupe drivers will enjoy

our high-speed mountain roads the C 250 CDI was balanced and poised, with feedback from the steering. In due to a schedule clash we drove over the mountains in the ‘Benz and a performance-oriented Japanese coupe and it was the feel which was poles between the two.

Around the turbo-diesel and seven-speed auto nicely matched for freeway but on a particularly bad morning peak run to the we must confess auto would test the patience of the greenie (clever and worthwhile that technology is).

C-Class Coupe Challenges

being picky here but we surprised the reversing camera was on the list and not standard fit in the Mercedes-Benz Coupe C 250CDI. There’s sensors, but even the latest Accent (starts at $16,990) has a

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe

‘Style’ with a capital that’s the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sure you get the ‘Benz sporty dynamics plus state-of-the-art and safety but the looks are what the C-Class apart.

And the jaw-dropping exterior is matched with standout style and just the right sporty

We should also add, isn’t easing-up in its ‘bang-for-the-bucks’ and the all-new C-Class Coupe is value with a remarkable of standard features.

When the AMG of the Mercedes-Benz C- Class Coupe we think it’s going to be at first sightand if the Car Showroom grizzle about the lack of legroom on the drive to netball

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe The

Naturally it’s the BMW 3 Series Entry to the 3 Series Coupe is the turbo-diesel 320d, priced at but you’ll need $80,850 for the petrol-powered model (325i) its 2.5-litre V6 delivers 160kW/250Nm to the C250’s 1.8-litre, four-cylinder 150kW/310Nm.
