TEST: C215 CL600

was one of those days where I love my life. I came up to the dealership this morning and the guy I am under this week me that he has a special treat for me. is a used 2003 Mercedes-Benz yep the one with the 500-horsepower, 800 Nm (590 of torque twin-turbo V12 engine. And who could have some fun behind the wheel of that ME. praise:] I didnt have to it anywhere, the dealership just me to go take it out and have some Didnt even ask if I could it. Damn it I love my life, I do. bigsmile:]

This particular was really hot and sexy looking. It had a (special option, really really expensive too!) exterior color as well as 19″ AMG rims and an AMG body kit. mufflers at the rear were The car was pretty well optioned out as with goodies like a steering wheel, refrigerator in the Distronic and much more. the first owner also extra for the cupholders. p] Oh yeah, and I asked what the original was of this car:  150,000! And now 2 years and 71,000 km (44,375 its being sold for  74,200.

would be the first, and probably V12 engine I would ever get to in my life. Aside from the forced induction blew serious power into baby so I was expecting something could break my neck at the of an accelerator pedal. Oh how I couldnt to abuse this thing. I was able to get the keys for the car, on some red license plates and the ignition. The V12 engine purred to in a very quieted down Nothing remotely sporty or just soft and quiet After that, the motor settled into an extremely and smooth idle. I couldnt nor feel the engine. It was that and that quiet.

The bad news? The engine was running on The fuel clock was on zero, and the computer signaled an estimated of 0 km! And this engine needs to 12-cylinders with fuel. Thank God there was a gas station 500 meters from the Benz I pulled in there and filled in 8 of the most expensive stuff had, which the thirsty V12 I thought I couldnt make it but the reached the gas station without or stalling.

As soon as I paid the  10.50 for 8 liters of gas, I my way to drive this thing slow and steady, just up the engine so I could enjoy the of the V12. Here are some of my impressions. The interior was pretty The materials used were an over the original C215 CL, debuted during the cost-cutting at Mercedes. In this car, the was pleasant. Nothing class but good materials and just a comfy place to be in. The suspension was a mix soft and hard, but mostly I noticed a ABC Sport button on the and playing around with I noticed that the suspension harder or softer. I left it on since I would need setting. Oh yeah. bigsmile:]

The steering feel was like an Light with a touch of but quick acting enough for sporty driving. You have to that this car is still a GT cruiser at heart and no serious would take this on the track. At any rate, I had no problems the steering feel. Guess I am to it from driving so many MBs. Even at higher the cabin remained very from the road: it was like world inside the cabin it was so quiet.

By now, the engine was up. This is all I really wanted to The power of a twin-turbocharged Swabian V12 with an absurd amount of I had navigated unto some country roads, which reasonably straight and traffic-free. One glance in the rear mirror to if really no one is behind me (yeah as if they could overtake me I punched it. p])I slowed to about 10-15 km/h my right foot off the brake let the car put my right foot into over the pedal and HAMMERED it! happened next just me away. First, the rear began screeching (and you feel them burning the away!), the car began to shake and right as the ESP, ABS and ASR and possibly the ABC systems began their in stabilizing the car. After a the CL600 just took off some really badass and force. I was brutally slammed into the cushioned seats and see the speedometer fly from speed to In no time, I was doing well the legal limit 100 km/h (62 I was in 160 km/h (100 mph) and gaining quickly. Oh, point This thing is badass. I down quickly as not to loose of this thing. As this acceleration was happening, the V12 motor showing its badass side. the sweet and quiet engine I had minutes before, came a (dont know how else to it) growl that frightened me. noise just bellowed at me and me that I have some power under the hood.

I wanted to take a 0-60 or a start video but the car was just too in terms of shove-back power. I had to this car when I punched it and meant both hands on the Seriously, all that power was absolutely insane. Even scarier, those precious 8 of gas I poured in where almost up. Boy this thing likes to Especially if someone like me constantly doing kickdowns is it. The board computer showed me an fuel economy of 36.2 / 100 km, thats 6.5 mpg!

I still had enough gas to have serious fun so I took it around the just hammering it, enjoying thrust of the V12. I couldnt get of this car and its power. Here was a opportunity to drive a badass V12 and I was and enjoying every minute of it. By the you couldnt feel any form of on the V12. The response was instantaneous the you hit the accelerator. At midrange speed, the also responded instantly.

The automatic transmission was so good, wasn any need to play with it. However, I did fool with it downshifting into 2nd and 3rd and then hammering it if only you there to experience the results. thing is badass. Period. I wanted to take videos, but the car was to powerful and it was just inviting an if I did take videos. Sorry safety first. ]

All the while, I just kept it here and there with the results. The car gained speed so it wasnt funny. In fact, I had problems controlling all that on those tight roads. The felt heavy and didnt sporty at all. I wasnt it to be since its a luxury GT cruiser, but it wasnt made for blasting to curves at high speed. this car is at home is on the Autobahn, its high speed stability and are designed to bring occupants in and style from A to B. Indeed, the car feel like a super but its straight-line power was just But I have to say, the CL was a fun car to drive. sitting behind the wheel of a classy luxury car with a engine upfront is enough to anyones day. The suspension, not in sports mode, was comfy and ABC works well in jutting out bumps so that you cant what surface youre on.

I just stared at the CL600 all angles. What a beauty. An and conservative design, it has aged IMO. Funny thing is, it looks slightly modern in sense. I dont think the is outdated at all. People at me when some 20ish old looking kid pulls up in a big CL. I loved it. Too bad the owner specified a removing of the and V12 badges, which made CL look like a standard from the outside. The only evidence that this was a lay under the hood and in the way it drove.

Honestly, I loved the CL600 and the it had. But the only place you can exploit the car is on the Autobahn. Its simply to big and and not that good of a handler on the where I live. Aside that, it has so much power and controlling it in curves is a problem you keep your foot on the Realistically, a CL500 would be than enough for me. Maybe one of days when I finish school, I will check out the in more detail.
