Coming to your problem, I’ve had same problem for more half an year: loss of but revving up to red, lots of smoke, high consumption. vacuum, injectors and ECU ok, new intake new stepper motor, new turbo, new VAC valve, new MAP sensor, new MAF, new temperature sensor, cat checked and (procedure in WIS), new intercooler. it’s enough. Many to MB, indies etc. Lots of wasted.

To observe the flapper rod i let the car up and made the dangerous practise of up the car whilst in D with the handbrake or fully engaged and activating the which loads the engine.

i first fitted a brand new motor it slammed open and very quickly even in Later i noticed it didnt at all.

Since posting topic i have removed the manifold and drilled out all of the swirl and plugged them with M12 bar and Green Loctite.

I have actively Blocked the EGR pipe with a metal rammed into it to prevent eithar way, a 1k ohm resistor has fitted to the boost sensor which i find tends to let build slightly higher and the Variable actuator backing off the too soon so the car is more agile and A tuning box is still fitted ups the fuel pressure rail and last but not least Dieselman and Crows boost EGR resistor has been fitted for 2 months now and to be i cannot thank this enough for that because is no way i could have worked out myself and without it the car was basically given its age.

I also had the pressure pump begin to probably because of my tuning box it, i dont know by how much actively raise pressure Anyway I sourced a bag of oem bosch and took it apart and replaced the blue High pressure and put it back together.

Was actually not expecting success as the on the high Pressure pump to look rather warped or not even when torqued to 30 nm.

But i hot washed the whole engine bay and the car for an hour of the hardest driving i give it ‘with the bicycle in the as a safety measure’ and im happy to the engine stayed bone

During the makeover the car also had a new + housing and new Airbox rubbers were near non existent vibration.

For those not in the know if you a cdi engine this is a cheap way to it civilized. there are 2 on top and 2 inside the box and will instantly quiet it for 25e original pieces delivered

Out the super low Springs and back in OEM avantgarde springs and off with the 18 and back on with the refurbished 16s

Also dismantled the exhaust and out the first cat behind the turbo, and a flap in the top of the second box and smashed it out by piece and welded it shut from underneath nothing can be It had also broken the metal hanger between the rear of the and exhaust which got welded up time.

The result of the De cat is that as as the car is started you can hear the turbo to spool slowly the system is free, the noise is not intrusive and no extra exhaust note, i had a do a full throttle driveby and it like a jet engine from the a mixture of blast and whistle, very responsive now

The car feels about 180-190 hp the little mods i have as above.

I mainly drive a Remapped 174 Vw Trasporter that is at 212 hp and the is the same and quicker in some now. The Girlfriends car is a 118D 143 hp and it would be no where as punchy and lighter.
