Taken in chronological (as well as order, the 130 Heckmotor was introduced in 1934. Note, the more Beetle, also rear and likewise designed by Ferdinand didn’t appear in prototype until October of 1935. The Mercedes-Benz (in-house designation W23 was offered 1934-1936 with the comfort of a modern mid-size car and the costs of a small car. Its 25-bhp inline-4 resides aft of the rear axle, though of the car don’t give this (cooling vents on the rear do). This layout leaves plenty of room the axles for accommodations. Even I, larger than the average fit just fine, thanks. It that our 130 was a Cabrio-Saloon, its top fabric for an open-air drive.

Our 150 Sport Roadster is the only surviving example of this W30 Its split windshield and dual spares certainly give the car a appearance. All of this promotes engagement of a 4th-gear dog and appropriate dropping of revs. To again sans clutch you the lever to the left and blip the Get it right, and you’re ready to a Mercedes-Benz 540K, as this classic has a similar Schnellgang loosely: quick-gear) layout.

And, of course, the fun of driving old such as these is in this involvement#151;something that’s missing all too in today’s potentially drive-in-a-daze
