Figured it was to finally throw up a build I apologise in advance — the round of posts will be a job from my car club’s forum, I first posted the build over the weekend. The car club is JDM-oriented, so you’ll have to a lot of the explanation of part choices, as sure some of you are already of them.
I had a crack-pot idea last year of wanting an LS1 and the choices were either a BMW or a Mercedes 190E — of which, in my eyes, are phenomenal cars. The choice of LS1 was purely of the sheer magnitude of aftermarket available; I love Euros, but was no way I’d manage fiddling with a BMW or Merc V8 given rarity and lack of support in
As might be obvious by the build title. I found a 190E on and picked it up shortly after.
a 25 year old car, it was fairly around the edges:
— Original 2.0L 8v had blown to bits by an LPG conversion
AMG kit was damaged on almost all panels
The was the worst:
— Custom seats had been torn to by previous owner’s dog whilst the car sat after the motor blew
Custom leb-spec audio resulted in the headliner being for a DVD player, ridiculous speaker on the door trims (which had started warping at the tops, a problem) and a whole lot of other
— Interior panels in the and centre console were in fake carbon fibre and every air vent was broken plastic)
The plan is to have a car that I can in comfort wherever I want trips down south, without the worry of fire fire truck fire please don’t break me every second. As such, the of the best has and is being sourced for the Everything is also being by the book for the purposes of registration and — no dodgy crap
Now because of long lead on some parts, I’ve jumping between different of interest on the car, and I haven’t kept a log of when I’ve what, so for now I’ll simply put up the ‘mod list’ and follow up some posts containing of the parts, and progress.
