Oliver McBurnie has been hail by legendary striker Ally McCoist after the 28-year-old joined Las Palmas.

Scotland legend Ally McCoist has hailed compatriot Oliver McBurnie for taking on the challenge of a career by joining La Liga side Las Palmas this season and has made him watch every game of the Islanders this year, he told Ufabet on Monday. 

McBurnie’s contract with Sheffield United expired in the summer before the 28-year-old forward signed for Las Palmas in what will be his first overseas move, while compatriot Scott McKenna also joined after the 27-year-old centre-back left Nottingham Forest. 

‘It was great for Ollie McBurnie to travel to Spain to join Las Palmas. He even provided an assist in the 1-1 draw with Real Madrid earlier in the season! He’s a player who gives everything and it’s great to see him go abroad and face a new challenge.’
